Official free familiarisation and PSP practice

Use the official free practice to understand the demonstrated formats. Consider paid preparation only for additional features and material you can verify, rather than paying to access an application or a supposed guaranteed pass.

Free account required. No payment card. Original practice with worked feedback.

What we observed in the free tool

Our 18 October review of the officially linked familiarisation reported five ten-question sets. Complete repeats in each section showed the same observed items, with some order changes. That describes the practice flows tested; it does not prove there is no other content anywhere in the provider system.

The observed sections introduced the task and included a worked example. Early practice questions supplied correctness feedback, while later items acknowledged completion and a final score followed. The review did not find a full end-of-section solution review or a progress dashboard in those flows.

Why familiarisation is still valuable

A sample teaches you what to expect from the task. You can learn how the rules are presented, whether information disappears and how to enter an answer. That can remove avoidable confusion before doing further practice.

Its limitation as a repeated measure is familiarity. If you already remember a calculation pair or the answer to an ordering problem, a higher repeat score cannot by itself demonstrate improved performance on unfamiliar items.

What to compare before paying

Check for original material in the actual formats you need, explanations that reconstruct the work, clear coached and timed modes, and an honest account of fresh inventory. A promise of more questions is not useful if they are repetitions with cosmetic changes.

Review the implemented PSP course description, current access terms and pricing. Our practice is independent and does not reproduce official assessment items. PSP timing and scores are practice settings, and no course can establish the undisclosed official progression threshold.

Choose preparation for your route

Cadetship terms confirm psychometric selection, but the five familiarisation categories do not establish every live battery. General Service applicants should check their own invitation because current official pages differ on aptitude. Pilot applicants have specialist stages beyond these general practice areas.

Start with the diagnostic if aptitude is relevant, inspect the feedback and decide whether additional practice addresses a real need. You can use the application, fitness and interview guides alongside either free or paid reasoning practice.

Questions about this stage

Is the official free resource only 50 questions in total?

We observed ten recurring questions in each of five practice sections. That is a bounded observation of the tested public flows, not a statement about all hidden provider content.

Is PSP required to apply?

No. PSP is optional independent preparation. Apply through the official Defence Forces recruitment links.
