Cadetship personality questionnaire: prepare honestly

The 2026 Army and Naval cadetship processes include a personality questionnaire before interview. Complete the official task honestly and follow its instructions, rather than trying to construct a profile you think selection requires.

Save your work in your PSP account. Applications are submitted through the official Defence Forces website.

Where it appears in the process

The Army booklet says candidates progressing from the assessment phase receive an online questionnaire to complete within the specified time before interview. The Naval booklet also describes a questionnaire before competency interview.

That establishes the stage for those 2026 routes. It does not establish that every Defence Forces applicant takes the same product, or that a competitor’s named personality instrument is the current universal specification.

Avoid a supposed ideal personality script

Personality questions are different from calculation or ordering problems. A guide offering the correct personality answer for every situation is making a claim this preparation does not support.

Read each question and respond according to your actual experience and behaviour, as instructed. Trying to imitate an imagined officer persona can make your response less representative and leave you unable to explain the claimed behaviour later.

Prepare the practical conditions

Use the official link, check the deadline and make sure you can complete the task without avoidable interruptions. Follow the rules about assistance and navigation. If a technical issue occurs, use the official contact procedure.

PSP does not need a copy of your questionnaire answers. Keep private assessment information out of ordinary practice notes and do not share live items in public discussions.

Continue evidence-based interview preparation

You can still prepare useful interview material: real examples of responsibility, cooperation, decisions and learning. That is different from rehearsing a fictional psychological profile.

If your own invitation describes an additional psychological interview or specialist stage, read that route’s terms. Pilot assessment has a distinct process; the Army questionnaire guide should not be presented as complete pilot psychological preparation.

Questions about this stage

Are there correct personality answers to memorise?

This guide supplies no supposed ideal answer key. Follow the official task and respond honestly.

Is the same questionnaire confirmed for every route?

No. Use your route terms and invitation; do not infer a universal instrument from a third-party page.

Sources and current instructions

These guides explain the preparation process. Check your current competition booklet and invitation before relying on a requirement or date.

Official decisions, eligibility, medical clearance and assessment results belong to the recruiting organisation. A PSP practice score is not an official pass mark or selection prediction.
