PublicJobs Test Study Plan

A simple four-week plan for the aptitude tests. Stretch or compress it to fit the time you have. Steady beats cramming.

Assessment date: Weakest format:
Week 1Learn the formats
  • Read how each test works: numerical, verbal, SJT
  • Do one untimed set of each to feel the shape
  • Note which format feels least familiar
Week 2Build the weak area
  • Spend most sessions on your weakest format
  • Review every wrong answer and sort why
  • Start one short timed set at the end of the week
Week 3Add the clock
  • Move to timed sets in all three formats
  • Track your error types, not just your score
  • Practise pacing: read once, decide, move on
Week 4Sharpen and simulate
  • Do full timed sets at the real timing
  • Fix the one or two errors that keep recurring
  • Rest the day before; do not learn new material

One rule that matters most: always review why you got a question wrong, and sort your errors into misreadings versus wrong assumptions. Fixing the pattern is what raises your score, not doing more questions blindly.
