Consultant Urogynaecologist CUMH 2026: two-post candidate guide

The professional gate

Candidates require registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Medical Council register in obstetrics and gynaecology. They also need two years of certified postgraduate training in urogynaecology.

The booklet allows the successful interviewee up to 180 calendar days from interview to secure the relevant specialist registration and produce special-interest evidence where applicable. Appointment depends on meeting that requirement.

The post is a Section 62 appointment with clinical teaching or research duties linked to University College Cork. Candidates must be able to show educational skills, research capability, continuing professional development and initiation of audit and quality work. Access to transport is also required.

Choose evidence that shows integration

The posts are permanent and pensionable. The annual consultant scale is applied pro rata to 0.5 WTE. The booklet states that the successful candidate must take up the post within four months of interview, and annual leave is pro rata.
